Gerald Deetz Jr
SVP/Arizona Director of Business Development
In my role as SVP, Director of Business Development for Bell Bank in Arizona, no two days are alike. I love the variety of my work. I’m a catalyst for building internal and external relationships and connections. I’m also tasked with coaching bankers on business development, further developing Bell’s brand awareness in Arizona, and determining the timing of launching additional business lines in our market. I’m also a huge advocate for our amazing company culture. The diversity of the projects I spearhead is invigorating and the amazing potential we have for growth here in Phoenix is motivating.
Although Bell is one of the largest independently owned banks in the nation and has been around for over 50 years, we are still in the early stages of growth in the Valley. Our Bell Bank Mortgage division has been in this region for over 20 years and it’s exciting to bring the same level of service our mortgage customers know and love to the banking side of the business. We are setting out to take the Phoenix market by storm, having assembled an experienced team of bankers who are known for their outstanding professional abilities, attention to detail, and top notch customer service.
The company’s mission statement is “Happy Employees! Happy Customers” and it might sound cliché, but it is so true. I have been in banking more than 25 years and I have never been part of an organization that takes care of its employees like Bell Bank. The result is a cohesive employee base that is loyal to our brand and committed to our customers. Our employees here at Bell thrive as individuals, each with a specific expertise, but what’s most impressive is our combined talent as a team. We speak the same language as business owners, and we rely on our collective experiences to provide unequalled personal service to our customers.
While I was born in Detroit and raised in Houston, I have lived in Arizona for over 25 years now. My undergraduate degree is in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and I am a graduate of the Stonier Banking School at the University of Pennsylvania. My wife, Samantha, and I live in Phoenix with our two dogs, Luna and Kaya. When I’m not working, I enjoy golfing, swimming, cycling, wine tasting, cooking, and hanging out with Samantha and our dogs.
