Ben Hartwell, Skid Pro Attachments
As co-owner of a local business, Ben Hartwell of Skid Pro Attachments feels it's important to work with a community bank.
“I like the more personal touch. I’ve worked with corporate banks in the past, and you’re more of a number. I like that the president of the bank works with me directly.”
How I chose Bell:
I did some research when we needed a business checking account, and Bell had the most desirable one. It was free, and most other banks charged a fee.
How long I’ve been a customer:
It’s probably been about 8 years.
My favorite banker:
I work with Donna Ryan (personal banker) and Jason Pohlen (Alexandria branch president) quite a bit. They’re extremely helpful. If I have a question, they’re right on top of it. We do a lot of business through merchant accounts, so that’s huge. They’re on the ball, keeping us informed. They make it pretty simple. Any time I’ve had tough questions or needed some guidance, they’ve been there.
My favorite Bell Bank cookie:
My Bell products and services:
Business accounts, personal accounts, business loans
What I tell others about Bell:
I tell them about the free ATMs*; that’s nice, and the $50 we both receive if they join Bell.
(*Bell offers unlimited free withdrawals at 24,000 MoneyPass ATMs nationwide, and we automatically refund your first 4 domestic ATM fees on your monthly bank statement.)
What it means to bank at a locally owned, community bank:
Everywhere you look, you see Bell Bank sponsoring every event, and at Skid Pro, we like to do the same thing, so there’ve been a lot of things we’ve teamed up on, certain golf events, sporting events, anything in the community, so I think it’s a great thing.
Country music singer and sports radio host Chris Hawkey started banking with Bell because of our Pay It Forward program. That connection now helps him live out a childhood dream.
