John Leber
VP/Territory Manager – Equipment Finance
What I enjoy most about working at Bell is working for a bank more closely aligned with my values on how to treat customers and employees.
In my position, I build relationships with vendors and customers who sell or acquire equipment to support their business. I excel at listening to customers, telling their story and presenting a reasonable business case for Bell Bank Equipment Finance to consider. My experience has given me a good understanding of credit and facilitating the underwriting that results in a mutually beneficial outcome for the customer and Bell. I get the most satisfaction when persistence and strategy earn someone’s business – especially when I’m able to create winning situations for the bank and most importantly, our customer.
Originally from Chicago, I’ve lived all over the western United States and taken a bit of experience from each place. I earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill., and the University of Colorado – Denver.
With nearly 30 years in banking, including more than 20 in equipment finance, I have a good feel for the market and Bell’s place in it. Along the way, while I’ve never received a Nobel Prize for either peace or economics, I have earned many top sales performer awards.
My wife, Monique, and I live in Scottsdale, Ariz., and have 2 sons. Outside of work, you’ll often find me doing basically anything outdoors, preferably with family and friends. I especially enjoy travel, skiing, backpacking, hiking and coaching sports for my boys.
