Select a Contractor
Select a Contractor
If you haven’t already selected a contractor, consider visiting model homes and researching builders in your area. You can also talk to friends or family members who have recently built or renovated a home.
The Building Process: What to Expect
- Getting Started: As you begin the process, you’ll meet with your Bell Bank Mortgage loan officer, get pre-approved and set your budget and goals.
- Designing Your Home: You’ll work closely with your builder to pick a floor plan, select finishes and upgrades and personalize your space. This is where your vision comes to life.
- Construction: Once permits are obtained, the process begins. Your home is built in stages. First, excavation and foundation are completed followed by framing, roofing and rough-ins for mechanicals. Windows and doors are installed to make the home weather-tight, and then the project moves to insulation, interior walls, and finishes. Finally, appliances and the last touches are completed. Each step brings you closer to move-in day.
- Completion: You and your builder will do a final walk-through before you move into your new dream home.
