About Brooks
Brooks is a partner and co-founder of LongWater, an alternative asset management firm focused on the lower middle market, with investment strategies in private equity and private credit. His career began at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and later in his family’s agriculture business, where he ultimately served as CEO of The Arthur Companies, launching a specialty commodities trading division and driving significant operational improvements.
A member of Bell Bank’s board of directors since 2017, Brooks says serving on the board has offered valuable insight into the marketplace. His combined experience across agriculture, manufacturing and private investments provides Bell with strategic perspective on industry trends, governance and financial performance.
A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Brooks holds a master's degree in business administration/finance from Southern Methodist University. He is also an active board member of the Burgum Foundation, a private family foundation focused on innovative education programs and entrepreneurship in North Dakota.
Brooks and his wife, Taylor, live in Fargo with their three children and enjoy skiing, traveling, and biking.
