Darren Losee and Dawn Siewert, Urban Toad Media
Pursuing a dream takes more than ambition and dedication. It also takes courage and faith.
Graphic designer Dawn Siewert and photographer Darren Losee put their courage and faith to the test when they decided to turn an idea into a business by launching a creative media company called Urban Toad Media.
Offering a broad spectrum of graphic design, brand identity design, professional photography, as well as advertising and marketing services, Urban Toad Media has been helping Fargo-Moorhead area businesses thrive for more than 5 years.
But that wasn’t the only leap of faith Dawn and Darren took.
Noticing a void in the F-M area's publications for men, they decided to publish The Good Life Men’s Magazine – covering topics such as local heroes, parenting, sports and advice for men. Since the first issue hit newsstands in 2013, the publication has grown in recognition and readership.
How we chose Bell:
Darren: I’ve been banking with Bell for over 25 years. My dad was a Bell guy, so he kind of handed that down to me.
How long we’ve been customers:
20 to 25 years
Why we’ve stayed with Bell over the years:
Darren: I love their customer service. They’re approachable. They’re big enough to take care of my needs but small enough to be very personal as well.
With our busy, hectic schedules, Bell Bank always fits our needs. We’re always so busy running around, running two different businesses. Urban Toad Media keeps us on our toes. Bell Bank is always there for us.
Our Bell products and services:
Dawn: I love using the app – that’s probably my go-to – for both business and personal. I can make deposits, transfer money between checking and savings, and it’s just easy to use. You can take a picture of the back of your check, sign it and deposit it. You don’t have to worry about running in to the bank and waiting to get that money deposited.
What it means to bank at a community-driven bank:
Darren: I love it! I support that. It kind of goes right along with our business plan as well with The Good Life magazine. We want to focus on giving back to the community. Bell Bank nails it.
What we think of Bell’s Pay It Forward program:
Dawn: The Pay It Forward program is great because it gives back to our community the way that Darren and I believe in doing for our business as well.
Support for Small Businesses
As bison ranchers, Dale Rengstorf and P.J. Breen don’t operate a typical business. So they need a bank that’s a bit of a maverick, too. They found it at Bell.
