About Rod
Rod served as Bell Bank’s chief financial officer from 1999 until his retirement in 2020.
During his tenure, Rod helped steer Bell Bank through significant events including post-9/11 financial challenges and later the Great Recession; the acquisitions of Northern Capital Trust, Bell Mortgage and Warner & Company Insurance; and the launch of Bell’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
A Fargo, N.D., native and a graduate of Minnesota State University – Moorhead, Rod held roles at several local banks before joining what was then State Bank of Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo.
He has served on the board of State Bankshares, Bell’s holding company, and as an ESOP trustee.
Rod and his wife, Diane, live in Fargo and have 2 grown children.
