Gavin grew up in the Twin Cities and now owns 3 top restaurants in the Minneapolis metro area. Further, Gavin pays it forward in his work by mentoring up-and-coming young chefs through the nonprofit ment’or BKB Foundation.

A top Twin Cities chef, Gavin has been honored with 2 James Beard Awards – as Rising Star Chef of the Year in 2008 and Best Chef: Midwest in 2018.

Founder of Soigne Hospitality Group, Gavin is at the helm of nationally recognized Twin Cities restaurants Spoon and Stable (a 2015 James Beard finalist), Bellecour bistro in Wayzata, and Demi in the North Loop.

Gavin was mentored by 2 of the world’s most celebrated chefs, Daniel Boulud and Paul Bocuse. He is a founding mentor of the nonprofit ment’or BKB Foundation (formerly Bocuse d’Or USA Foundation), which prepares Team USA for a biennial competition showcasing the world’s up-and-coming young chefs. Gavin currently serves as president of Team USA.

“Gavin Kaysen uses his own professional craft to lead and mentor, as well as to raise funds on behalf of many great local causes,” said Michael Solberg, Bell Bank president and CEO. “We are proud to team up with this well known and highly respected chef, and we look forward to working with Gavin in unique ways to make our community even better.”

As a Bell Bank Champion, Gavin will be featured in advertising and social media, host select customer meet-and-greet events, and connect with Bell to pay it forward in the community.

“I’m very proud to champion and partner with Bell Bank,” Gavin comments. “This is a company with values of family and community, and that ties perfectly with my own vision for my restaurants and organizations, and how we can give opportunities to people to learn, lead and mentor."
