Mike Welch Joins Bell Insurance

Mike Welch has joined Bell Insurance as a commercial insurance advisor, where he will focus on market development and expanding Bell Insurance’s presence across the Twin Cities.
Welch brings more than a decade of leadership experience in sports and event management, with a strong background in brand building, partnerships and community engagement. He recently held leadership roles with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx and the 3M Open golf tournament.

Mike shows up every day with a strong work ethic and natural ability to connect with people, and that will make an immediate impact for our Bell team.”
Welch spent more than 13 years with the Timberwolves and Lynx organization, serving as vice president of corporate partnerships for his final four years. He helped secure founding and legacy partners for the renovated Target Center and led development of the teams’ first jersey patch partnership. In 2018, he played a key role in a partnership with Fitbit and the Timberwolves that earned NBA Partnership of the Year honors.
At the 3M Open, Welch helped grow the tournament’s impact and reach, increasing revenue each year from 2020 through 2025. The event was named a finalist for Most Sustainable Event on the PGA Tour from 2023 through 2025. Since 2019, the tournament has donated more than $9 million to more than 20 charities that positively impacted more than 1.25 million youth and young adults.
Welch and his wife, Andrea, live in Blaine with their four sons. He enjoys golf, baseball, basketball, volunteering in the Spring Lake Park school and youth sports communities and spending time with his dog, Tucker.
