Bell Bank is proud to honor Magdalena Salazar, a teller at our bank in Pelican Rapids, Minn., as our 2025 Bell Value Award winner in the category of Family Atmosphere!

At our Pelican Rapids branch, one of the tellers – also a single mother of three – was having car trouble on what was shaping up to be one of the coldest weeks of the year. “She knew her car was about on its last leg,” says VP/branch manager Diane Hanson, “and one day when she was getting ready for work, it would not start. Luckily, she was able to borrow her mom’s vehicle for a few days.”

Enter fellow teller Magdalena , who asked for the keys to the “dead” vehicle and got it to her house and into the hands of her husband, Danny, a mechanic. Danny fixed the problem, changed the oil, checked over the rest of the vehicle and brought it back in working order – all at no charge.

“This saved our teller an expensive repair bill, and Magdalena and Danny did it without thinking twice,” says Diane, expressing gratitude for those willing to “go the extra mile” for someone in need.
