Youth Education: New Year, New Ways To Grow Your Wealth

A man and girl sit smiling on a living room floor with a piggy bank. The man holds the piggy bank while the girl prepares to deposit a coin, highlighting saving money.

A new year brings new goals and a fresh way to talk about what it really means to be wealthy. This January, we’re helping families explore the many forms of wealth, from money and knowledge to kindness, health, and family. Our newest printable activity helps kids see that the habits they build today are the foundation of lifelong success.

3 Ways to Teach Kids About the Different Kinds of Wealth

  1. Talk About What Money Can’t Buy. Ask your kids: “What makes our family rich that doesn’t cost money?” You’ll spark great conversations about love, learning, and connection — all part of real wealth.
  2. Show That Knowledge Builds Wealth. Every new skill, from reading to riding a bike to saving, adds value to your child’s life. Encourage them to celebrate what they’re learning as part of your family’s fortune.
  3. Set Wealth Goals Together. Instead of just resolutions, make “wealth goals” — a savings goal, a kindness goal, a learning goal. Each small step grows your family’s wealth in meaningful ways.
