Gift cards are a great gift for teachers, teenagers or that hard-to-buy-for person on your list. Here are some answers to your Bell Bank Visa® gift card questions:

Q: How many gift cards can I buy with no activation fee?
A: Typically, Bell customers can buy up to 10 gift cards every year with no purchase or activation fee, and additional cards are available for a purchase fee of $4 per card. But now through the end of December, you can buy unlimited gift cards with no activation fee.

Note: When you buy Visa® gift cards at a retail store, you typically have to pay an additional $4.95 to activate it, and most banks charge an average $4 purchase fee.


Q: Is there a minimum or maximum purchase amount?
A: Yes, gift cards must be worth at least $25 and cannot be worth more than $500. 


Q: Are there any fees if the card is not used?
A: Yes, there is a monthly fee of $4.95 after 12 consecutive months of inactivity on a card. 


Q: Where can I purchase a gift card?
A: You can stop by any Bell retail location to purchase gift cards at the teller line. 


Q: Do you offer large group orders for a business or organization?
A: Yes, just ask any of our tellers about it, or call customer service at 1-800-450-8949. 


Q: Do I need to activate the card once I purchase it?
A: If you buy your gift card at the teller line, it will already be activated. If you place a large order of gift cards, you will need to activate them when you receive them. 


Q: How do I register my card and what is the benefit of doing so?
A: You may register your gift card online at gocardservices.com. Registering your card will provide the additional security required to allow you to check your balance, view your transaction history, use your card for phone and online purchases and request a replacement card.  


Q: Can the cards be used overseas?
A: No, our gift cards do not work for international transactions.


Q: Can I reload the card?
A: No, the gift cards are not reloadable, but if you are looking for a reloadable card, we sell that as well. 


Q: Can someone use the card to take out cash at an ATM?
A: No, they can only be used for point-of-sale transactions.
